Helium Gusts is the opening track to Acrimonium, and unlike the rest of the album features a sparse arrangement and ambient tone. This is the first song that primarily features Trig Jegman on guitar, playing haunting melodic lines and deeper bass with heavy distortion effects. Light synths help the track swell into a dramatic point, setting up for the intensity of the rest of the album.
It's more emotionally involved than it would first seem. Something about the feeling of drifting off into space, just like those wisps of Helium, seems so appealing, but so unattainable.
