The original album cover for Doomed to Obscurity utilized Generative Artificial Intelligence for its cover in its primitive form, which has now been deemed to have been unacceptable to do. For this reason, its original cover has been omitted here.
Doomed to Obscurity is a collection album by Trig Jegman, released on December 31, 2022. It assembles a lot of miscellanous pieces that generally don't have continuity, are live performance, or are otherwise something that would be too hard to "blend" onto the play of a standard album.
01 — Stand On Your Own Head
A terrifying electronic piece, this takes its name and lyrical contents to reference various They Might Be Giants songs in new, unpredicable ways. Who knew Trig could make those sounds.
02 — Outro
Used for the outro music of an incredibly niche YouTube series. Kept intentionally vague.
03 — Algorithm Defectors
Part of a songwriting challenge, featuring extensive work from frequent collaborator Doctor Whom. This features an intensifying back and forth between Trig Jegman playing specific parts, with Doctor Whom behind it shredding via guitar in a strain between live music and digital creation. All is jarring and strange, allowing for a quite chaotic piece for the digital age.
04 — Fanfare for Saint Anthony's
Part of a songwriting challenge to compoes a theme for a church. It's minor key usage into PIcardy thirds demonstrates moving from darkness into light from belief.
05 — A Trip to the Store Where Everything is Normal and Nothing Unusual Happens (ATSWENNUH)
A musique concrète piece, attempting to fold in accordion. Turns out, playing backwards accordion is similar to just playing forwards accordion. This is more of a techincal marvel than anything else.
06 — Silent Night
Yes, the Christmas piece. Over the holidays, its tradition to play accordion for those instead of hiring a bunch of carolers. This is one of the personal favorites to do.
07 — Cs Get Degrees Polka
Artistically jabbed at the education sphere, this tune features synthesizers and admittedly fake accordions playing together to make an ultimately tense polka to represent the season of finals and the stress that comes with it.
08 — Horse (Instrumental)
See Horse.
