Horse is a cover of the Ben Levin and Adam Neely song of the same name, released on the album Beautiful and Tragic. This song always had a particular different feeling to it, and so on April 12, 2021 this cover came to be. The original, while bright and poppy, had lyrics that came across better as more of a march or even dirge: The Horse is travelling far, far away over long mysterious distances. The main hook repeats over and over again, repeating its journey, leading to an intense climax by the end of the piece. It is a song that has great emotional depth, despite its initial comical appearance. Perhaps we all can relate to the Horse pushing ever onward.
The B-side to this single is an extended version of the original, with an extended, different opening featuring some ambient synthesizer work, and the instrumental ending to the song builds for a longer period of time with even more instrumentation.
The cover artwork is an edited photograph of a flashbulb, which is blue in color and full of little filaments that go off once the flash actually occurs. The extended version uses artwork of the inside of Trig Jegman's right eyeball.
