C of Misery is the fourth EP released by Trig Jegman, on November 27, 2021. Unlike most releases up to this point, C of Misery was recorded entirely live performance, and was mostly electronic music instead of the traditional instrumentation of Trig Jegman releases prior. Most songs run fairly short, only teasing a particular motif a few times before ending.
This highly experimental release was encouraged by former collaborator Grugg, who participated playing some of the synthesizer lines and broad ideas. Out of formality's sake, Grugg is still mentioned on the final release, though Trig Jegman no longer associates with Grugg or their related projects. Jerk.
01 — Schmovin'
An upbeat track, rushing to some sort of goal. Features a classic vibraslap for the ending.
02 — Tubular
A heavy reliance on bell tones, hence the name. The pitch bend wheel was also used so heavily it broke on the keyboard that was used to record the album. Future recordings had to physically hold the tone wheel in place as to not distort while playing!
03 — BUSSIN
I guess this is what kids used as modern lingo, at the time. Something ominous, like the reveal of a major plot device in a video game.
04 — Jonesing
A sexy, psychedelic groove track, with one of the fattest saxophone solos ever to see the light of day.
05 — Mechanical Mayhem Overdrive
A remix of the original Mechanical Mayhem, but entirely recreated with synths to sound more technological.
A sixth song, "Sad Clown", was originally included in this release as the major feature for Grugg. Given the lack of desired association, this track has been removed from all live releases, and will not be covered here both as it does not contain Trig Jegman material and because it doesn't deserve to be covered.
