How to End the World in 3EZ Steps! is a concept EP released by Trig Jegman on April 25, 2025. Incredibly experimental in nature, it centers around four loose "characters" that goes about the hypothetical destruction of the world, and how certain values might be more morally gray than it seems. Fully vocalized, this tells a short story with incredibly catchy ear-worms to hook into any ear that is willing to hear it.
01 — The Narrator
The Narrator is the opening track, and introduces the titular character. It's their game, but as much as they can designate its influence, the show is ultimately not in their hands. Trig Jegman is still the singing voice here, believe it or not. The drum track underwent eleven different iterations before settling on the final cut.
Life from all perspectives is the gift that I can see
But interactive active actions is not what I can be
To tell you any story across any point in time
But starring in those stories never is perspective mine
I've spun up a tale that never happened to the earth
About dying, decay, ruin, and eventual rebirth
Mix a myth and legend and tall tales to set my scene
With hints of truth and honesty to fill cracks in between
02 — ID
ID tells the story of a giver, a being of life, and generally symbolizes growth. This was the final character to write for the story.
It's the giver of life
Fruit harvest bountiful
Id gave us all the best
Overflowing wine barrels
And nothing close to less
Something though to note was Id's generous to them all
Including those that otherwise would deserve to fall
Many fell indeed from the cloudy skies above
Soon the crows and ravens tore into the purest dove
It's the giver of life
Giver to the needy
Giver to the poor
Giver to the evil
Who'd surely beg for more
Id was helping entities that want us broke or gone
Id would not know better for Id would just play along
Id will keep on giving though it's not what most us like
Id has given weapons for our oppressors to now strike
Giver to the needy
Giver to the poor
Giver to the evil
Who'd surely beg for more
Demons walk among us
Demons were, now here
But when we needed answers
Id only gave us fear
Soon Id was gone entirely
Without a trace nor hair
The giving turned to ashes
The joy into despair
Was the giver of life
03 — Ego
The first track written for the concept EP. The main riff and bassline have been something in development for about a year, with no real place to take it until here. The entire piece is probably as close to describing how music ideas is heard internally as possible—Raw Jegman Brainpower if you will. The lyrics take a jab at decay and death. Maybe that's bad, maybe that's not. Who's to say.
Ego was a shrill old man
Who could not ever see
His only job was thankless
With halfhearted apology
Ego took the misery
Ego took the pain
Ego took humility / Down the drain
Ego was a flower
Ego was the lawn
Ego sleeps forever / Now he's gone
Helloooooooo Egooooooo
Goodbyeeeee Egooooooo
Now the demons walk among us
Demons, demons here
Ego couldn't stop them
Only take away our fear
Ego was a taker
Thats all he ever did do
Took every ounce of everything
Until his own life was took too
04 — Superego
This ended up being the biggest surprise when writing, and possibly a personal favorite in recent years. Infectious middle-eastern hook, a simple but pressing bass, and the spookiest choir you ever did hear. Recovery sucks, and so do the promises Superego made. The vocals on this took the most time to record by far, due to range and variance in delivery. A gong has never been more fitting for a piece.

Recovery was without meaning
Until Superego came along
Aimless and a feeling fleeting
Was the tune that she rung

Bring us back to normal!
And all its normalcy!
Push back upon the curses
Layed by Immortal She
Her final joke was kindness
Believed by naught like me
